For artist Steve Deacon the sprawling landscapes of Cornwall's beaches are distilled into the intricate beauty of the small. Based in Tywardreath, Steve focuses on the captivating details found amongst the sand and sea: the smooth, worn pebbles, the iridescent fragments of shell, and the curious treasures washed ashore.

"Painting a vast scene can be overwhelming for me," Steve explains, referring to their experience with ADHD. "My mind naturally gravitates towards the minute, the individual elements that collectively tell a much larger story." Every painting by Steve is a testament to the quiet narratives of the coastline. Through his meticulous and sensitive brushwork, the humble beach pebble transforms into a portrait of time and tide, inviting viewers to look closer and discover the hidden wonders of Cornwall's shores.
